And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ."

At Christ Our Refuge, we believe that every member should be actively involved in ministry. The ministries of the church are for the purpose of "building up the body of Christ" as each person exercises the spiritual gifts that God has given him or her, whether it is encouraging others with biblical truth, acts of service, interceding for others, extending mercy to those in need, or many other ways that the Bible describes. Below are the organized ministries that we currently have as we look to develop more in the future.
Music + Choir
Our music and choir ministry leads worship every Sunday and at special events.
Mercy Ministry
COR's Mercy Ministry seeks to extend the mercy of Christ by prayerfully meeting the felt needs of church and community members through actions. These actions include visitation, biblical advice and encouragement, distributing food, prayer and other ways.
Children's Ministry
Our children's ministry aims to be the community that leads children to faith in Christ, teaches them to love and obey God, and reaches out to others with Christ's love in the community where they come from.
Shepherding
In Psalm 23, we see the way that the Lord is our Chief Shepherd who feeds, protects and leads His sheep. God has called and placed elders in His church who serve as under-shepherds by feeding, protecting and leading Christ's sheep with His Word, prayer, biblical counseling and loving church discipline (1 Peter 5:1-4).
Fellowship Groups
The Bible describes the fellowship of the believers as sharing deeply in each other's lives together. Fellowship Groups provide an important way that church members have fellowship through meeting, praying for each other, and discussing and encouraging one another in biblical teaching.
Men's Ministry
Our men's ministry aims to raise up men who, like Jesus, are gentle and lowly in heart, love and serve God passionately, and have a strong sense of Christian brotherhood.
Women's Ministry
Our women's ministry aims to foster a community of sisterhood in Christ where we can join one another and learn how to be biblical women in all areas of our lives.
